National ROV Competition in Kingsport, TN
AHS ROV won 1st place in the Great Lakes Regional Competition for Marine Advanced Technology Education. This has qualified our team for the Annual MATE International ROV Competition. In past competitions, our team has placed in the top 5 in the world and earned distinguished awards including the Marty Klein Award for Excellence in Underwater Research and the Spirit Award.
This year, MATE International ROV Competition is held at the Kingsport
Aquatic Center in Kingsport, Tennessee is on June 19-22 it will evaluate our engineering and design
capabilities. This is an amazing opportunity for us to compete against other U.S.
teams and teams from Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and more.
Our ROV club has to raise funds to cover the costs, we are asking members of theAlpena community for needed support in representing Northeast Michigan. Any amount of monetary donation would be greatly appreciated. This can be done by sending a check
