Alpena High School Fall 2023 Athletic Update
AHS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT SUMMER UPDATE
Dear AHS Families:
I hope that you have had a great summer. I want to take a few moments to provide an Athletic Department update.
We are a few weeks away from fall sports starting on August 7, 2023, and coaches and student athletes have been working extremely hard this off season to be ready. Athletic schedules are posted on the Alpena Athletic website HERE. As a friendly reminder, schedules are subject to change, and coaches will be contacting you through Final Forms with practice times and social media pages.
A reminder that all students in grades 9th-12th MUST have a sports physical in Final Forms that is dated after April 15, 2023, and they MUST be registered in Final Forms to participate in athletics. Final Forms registration is open for all seasons. If a physical or registration has not been completed in Final Forms, your student athlete will not be allowed to participate on the first day or practice. This year all high school student athletes will be asked to attend a Student Athlete Leadership Day at AHS on August 11, 2023. A detailed schedule will be released soon, and our guest speaker will be Mike Thompson from the Great Lakes Leadership Institute in partnership with the Jeff Jannsen Leadership Center. The event will be a great way to kick off the athletic season and provide great information on leadership, culture of our athletic department, and the commitment it takes to be a student athlete.
Athletic tickets this year will be available on the GOFAN website. Please purchase tickets online, as it will help speed up entry at the gates. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate with a credit card.

Tickets will go on sale the week of August 7, 2023
The fall athletic RIGHT TO KNOW meeting for all parents of an AHS Athlete will be August 15, 2023, at 6:00 pm at Park Family Field at Wildcat Stadium. This year we will have a couple of guest speakers, athletic training services update, and a physical rehab consulting update.
