CAMP NOTES
The purpose of this camp is to learn basic basketball fundamentals such as shooting, finishing, ball handling, and live gameplay. Camp will be a good time to train in an energetic and fun environment, and compete against others and against yourself. This camp will be run by our high school coaching staff, as well as some of our current high school players and alumni. This will be a great time for young players to get introduced to our AHS basketball program, and have fun in a highly competitive environment.

Teacher Appreciation Day, celebrated on the Tuesday of the first full week of May, recognizes educators for their dedication, hard work, and pivotal role in shaping young minds and society. It is a designated time to honor teachers' lasting influence on students and to express gratitude for their commitment to education.
It honors the hard work, passion, and long hours teachers invest in their students and classrooms.
Teachers are recognized for their crucial role in shaping future generations and strengthening communities.
It is an opportunity to highlight the value of teaching as a profession.
It provides a specific time for students, parents, and communities to say "thank you" for the lasting, positive influence teachers have.
In 1953 First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt urged Congress to set aside a day to honor teachers, leading to the first National Teacher Day.

Staff Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the work of each individual but also to recognize that together we form a system. Our school system utilizes about 550 staff members and 200 contractors to serve the daily needs of over 3000 students. The commitment and teamwork builds the future of our community and each of our students that we serve each day. Thank you APS Staff!
