Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor, appreciate, and recognize the love, sacrifices, and contributions of mothers and mother figures. School Communicators Day, celebrated annually on the second Friday in May honors the school public relations professionals and staff who manage crucial communication between schools, families, and the community. It recognizes their work in promoting student stories, managing crises, and increasing school transparency

APS actively supports our families and community during emergency relief efforts by partnering with more than 40 local agencies as a member of the Alpena County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). APS staff is supporting communications efforts for the EOC and we serve throughout the year as an active member of the Alpena County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
