National PE & Sport Week (May 1-7) is celebrated to highlight the crucial role of quality physical education (PE) in schools, promoting lifelong physical activity, and supporting students' physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. It advocates for inclusive, standards-based PE programs, such as Unified PE, ensuring all students—regardless of ability—have opportunities to build confidence, motor skills, and healthy habits.

Celebrating Law Day on May 1 is important because it honors the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution, and the legal framework that safeguards American freedoms, justice, and equality. Established in 1958, it acts as a reminder that law, rather than force, governs society, upholding democracy and protecting individual rights.

Celebrating School Principal Day (May 1) is important because it recognizes the often-unseen, high-pressure work of school leaders who set the school's tone, mentor teachers, ensure safety, and foster positive learning environments for students. It is a vital opportunity to thank these leaders for strengthening community and school success.
