An Afternoon with Patrick Henry
Meet Patrick Henry as he shares his stories of America’s struggle for independence and
the establishment of a new nation. You will hear his famous speech that sparked the American
Revolution and discover the roots of his oratorical skill and political passion. He’ll also be
discussing his personal life, marriages, children and grandchildren, and how he turned tragedy
into triumph time and time again. Prepare to be inspired as you meet with and reflect on the
incredible life journey of Patrick Henry, one of our most illustrious founding fathers!
Henry will be portrayed by Gary L. Hauck, who holds a PhD from Michigan State
University and is Dean Emeritus of Arts & Sciences at Montcalm Community College. He is the
author of 26 books, and has participated in community theater, Dancing with the Local Stars of
Greenville, and ArtPrize Grand Rapids. As a lover of history and the humanities, Hauck has
travelled to all 50 states, 118 countries, and all seven continents. He resides with his wife Lois
and near their four children and two grandchildren in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
