Hinnks PTO Haunted Woods 10/16 and 10/17
Alpena Public Schools contracts with the WillSub service for substitute custodians, instructional assistants, food service workers, secretaries and teachers. Individuals who wish to work as substitute staff for Alpena Public Schools should follow the steps below to complete the required application and necessary online training:

Visit https://www.willsub.com.
Click the Start a New Account button.
You will be prompted to complete a four-step enrollment process; application, fingerprinting, online training, and uploading of required documentation.
Questions regarding subbing may directed to the APS Sub-Procurement Office - Telephone (989) 358-5031.

APS is hiring Substitute Teachers and Support Staff
ParentVUE Grade and Attendance Notifications (Smartphone APP available!)
You can set up your account in ParentVUE to get notified if grades fall below a certain percentage or when the student has been late or missed a class.
For login information contact your child's school
1. Parents need to go into "My Account", check the box for the features they want to activate, such as grades or attendance.
2. click Update Account.
3. This will then bring up another screen for them to choose the options of what day of the week, what percentage to send the notice, etc.

The single most effective preventative tool regarding school safety is if you See Something, Say Something. If your child sees or hears something that is concerning, they should say something to an adult or report it online using ok2say.com. On an annual basis the district and law enforcement are seeing messages shared repeatedly on social media, and often the same message is edited to replace the school name and then reshared again. When students or adults just repost messages on social media and don’t report through the appropriate channels, it perpetuates fear and creates additional safety issues. It diverts resources from the school and law enforcement, complicates investigations, and makes it challenging to share accurate information with parents in a timely manner, it makes us less safe. Please REPORT and don't REPOST.

Future Wildcat Cheer Clinic
Calling all future Wildcat cheerleaders! Do you want to show your spirit and excitement? If so, AHS Varsity Cheerleaders are hosting a youth cheer clinic and we want you there! During the clinic, you will learn cheers that you will be able to perform at the AHS Varsity football game!

PERFORMANCE: All grades will perform during the 1st quarter at the Varsity football game on October 17th at 7pm. We ask that your child comes at 6:00 to review the cheers before the game.

COST: $40.00 - Checks can be made payable to "Alpena Athletics-Cheerleading" or cash.
Bring money to the clinic on October 15th in order to secure your tshirt and bow.
COST INCLUDES: cheers to perform, t-shirt, bow, and treat

DEADLINE: Friday, October 3rd. Please fill out this form
*If your child registers after the deadline, we cannot guarantee a t-shirt*
