Celebrating School Principal Day (May 1) is important because it recognizes the often-unseen, high-pressure work of school leaders who set the school's tone, mentor teachers, ensure safety, and foster positive learning environments for students. It is a vital opportunity to thank these leaders for strengthening community and school success.

School Lunch Hero Day, celebrated annually on the first Friday in May, honors school nutrition professionals for their vital role in preparing healthy meals, meeting strict nutrition standards, and ensuring students are nourished and ready to learn. It recognizes these "unsung heroes" for their kindness, patience, and dedication to student well-being.

Mental Health Awareness Month, observed in May since 1949, is celebrated to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness, raise awareness, provide support, and educate the public. It promotes early intervention and highlights that mental health is crucial for overall well-being, encouraging people to seek help
