Safe Routes To School (SRTS) initiatives
aim to unite neighborhoods, ease traffic
congestion and air pollution, and
contribute to students’ readiness to learn
in school
PURPOSE OF SRTS
Enable and encourage children,
including those with disabilities, to walk,
roll and bike to school
Encourage bicycling and walking to
school as a safer and more appealing
transportation alternative, thereby
encouraging a healthy and active
lifestyle from an early age
Facilitate planning, development, and
implementation of projects/activities
that will improve safety and reduce
traffic through new sidewalks, bike
paths and improved
intersections/crossings
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL GRANT
The Safe Routes to School Program
(SRTS) is a federal Transportation
Alternatives Program funded by the
Michigan Department of
Transportation (MDOT), working with
the Michigan Fitness Foundation (MFF)

AHS Varsity Sideline Cheer invites you to...
📣2 DAY MANDATORY CLINIC: Monday, June 1st 4:30-6:30 and Tuesday, June 2nd from 4:30-6:30 at the football stadium. If it rains, it will be in the HS gym (During this time, you will learn all tryout material prior to official tryouts)
📣MANDATORY TRYOUTS will be held Wednesday, June 3rd 4:30-6:30 at the football stadium. If it rains, it will be in the HS gym
📣MANDATORY Parent / Athlete meeting will be held directly after tryouts on Wednesday, for those who made the team. During the meeting, you will find out all of the details for our upcoming season. Location will either be football stadium or HS gym, depending on weather.
