Patriot Day 9/11
September 11 is called Patriot Day to honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks, as well as the heroic first responders who rushed into danger.
On December 18, 2001, the U.S. Congress passed a joint resolution officially designating September 11 as Patriot Day.
The name reflects the courage, love of country, and selflessness shown by victims, rescue workers, and ordinary citizens during and after the tragedy.

Bus route 21B the Dolphin in the Wilson area will not be running afternoon routes on Friday 9/11/26 morning routes will run as usual.

Although families won’t have to pay for meals, they must still complete qualification forms for their local school. Completed forms allow schools to qualify for meal REIMBURSEMENT from the state as well as funding for;
Instructional specialist staff (ex. Reading Interventionists, Math Tutors, Academic & Behavior Aids)
Teaching supplies and materials
Counselors and Social Workers
School Nurses
Professional Learning for staff
Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities
Technology for students

Milo Dahleen from Alpena High School was named as a Semi-finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced over 16,000 Semifinalists in the 72nd annual program, representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors. These seniors are competing for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth about $24 million.
To reach the Finalist level, Semifinalists must submit a detailed application detailing their academic record, school/community participation, leadership, employment, and honors. They must also receive a high school official's recommendation, write an essay, and earn confirming SAT or ACT scores.
We commend Milo Dahleen for this accomplishment and wish him luck in the next round!
