December 2nd is Special Education Day

We celebrate National Special Education Day on December 2nd to commemorate the anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) (originally the Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975), which was signed into law on December 2, 1975. The day is meant to highlight progress in special education, recognize the achievements of students, and show appreciation for the educators and advocates who support them. It also serves to raise awareness about the ongoing need for inclusive and equitable educational opportunities for all students with disabilities.
