Third Avenue Resurfacing and DTE Gas Main Repair
1. Beginning Monday, October 12, 2026, contractors will begin resurfacing work on Third Avenue, from Garden Street to Ripley Blvd. During this project there will be partial and full road closures. This project does include the adjustment of manholes and valve boxes.
While Third Avenue is fully closed, the intersection of Garden and Third will remain open for residents living south of Third Avenue. Signage and barricades will be present to guide traffic around the closure, but motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. This resurfacing work is expected to be completed in two (2) weeks unless weather or construction delays occur.
2. Beginning Monday, October 12, 2026, DTE contractors will be repairing their natural gas main along Ripley Blvd at the Third Avenue intersection. The west leg of the intersection will be fully closed for the duration of the repair.
Ripley Blvd will remain open, but you can expect lane shifts near the intersection. Signage and barricades will be present to guide traffic around the closure, but motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. This gas main repair repair is expected to last one (1) month unless weather or construction delays occur.
Please understand that there may be delays for both motorists and buses for schools in that area during construction.
