On November 17th and 19th,  Alpena Public Schools hosted two community forums to launch our "Reimagine Our Future: Together" initiative, a proactive effort to address our 50-year enrollment trends, aging infrastructure, and the operational challenges of our 604-square-mile district. In partnership with Kingscott Associates, we presented initial draft scenarios designed to spark conversation about grade configurations, building usage, and program centralization. 

The community is reminded that these scenarios are not final plans; they are conceptual conversation starters intended to help us explore how we can most effectively and equitably serve our students.

Your voice is the most critical part of this process, and we want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to weigh in. Alpena Public Schools, located in the cultural, economic, and educational hub of northeast Michigan, is a Class A district. We serve a population of approximately 3,600 students in 6 elementary schools for grades K-5, a junior high for grades 6-8, and a high school for grades 9-12 as well as an alternative high school program.
